POSITAL’s Next Day Production Keeps Louisiana Moving

When Louisiana Department of Transportation needed a POSITAL encoder to get a damaged bridge operational, POSITAL put them in the position to succeed. With 24 hours expedited production on millions of rotary encoders and around the clock support from their distributor, Everight Position, help is only a phone call away.

Such was the case in August when flooding due to a hurricane damaged the Grand Lake Swinging Bridge on Louisiana RT 384. A 3pm phone call to Everight Position resulted in a 10am shipment from POSITAL’s production team of a stainless steel, IP68/69k programmable absolute encoder. Given the harsh environment, replacement options were limited as a less robust encoder would have been destined to quickly fail. Once the encoder was received, Everight Position walked the LA DOT team through the scaling procedure, eliminating the need for a costly and timely on-site service call from the system integrator originally responsible for the bridge automation.

Everight Position strives to offer the best rotary and linear sensors, with the best service, at the best price. By taking the time to understand a customer’s needs Everight Position can offer the best solution, not merely an acceptable one. If your application needs a unique rotary encoder, is in a challenging environment or you are simply unsure where to start please reach out to speak with a sensor specialist today.
