H114

Part no.: H114

Key Features

• CSA approved to: Class I, Zone 0

• Sensor Mounting: M5 rod eyes, body clamps or M5 threadsSpring loaded pushrod option available

• Available in any measurement angle from 0-5mm to 0-800mm

• Sealed to IP68 10bar, 100msw, 145psi(for 350bar sealing see S125)

The intrinsically safe 10 bar H114 is an CSA approved affordable, durable, high-accuracy position sensor.

The H114, like all Positek sensors, provides a linear output proportional to displacement. Each unit is supplied with the output calibrated to the travel required by the customer, from 0-5mm to 0-800mm and with full EMC protection built in. The sensor is very robust, the body and push rod being made of stainless steel for long service life and environmental resistance. Derived from the popular H101, the H114 has been designed for applications where the sensor may be completely submerged in water up to a pressure of 10Bar, but good sensor performance and cost are still important.

Positek intrinsically safe sensors are designed to be used with a galvanically isolated amplifier. Approved galvanic isolation amplifiers (G005) are available from Positek; there is a choice of 0.5-9.5V or 4-20mA transmission outputs.

The sensor can be installed with a cable length up to 1km between the sensor and the amplifier.

Torque Measurement with Angle Sensors

As collaborative robots expand into manufacturing environments the issue of safe motion continues to be a concern. Current design approaches involve adding force sensors, torque sensors, and sometimes proximity sensors. These adders along with more complex software control algorithms mitigate most of the concerns and result in slower operation. Unfortunately, these additional sensors also add significant cost and complexity.

Submersible Linear Sensors

Positek’s portfolio includes a range of high-accuracy linear sensors specifically designed for use in submersible applications. Made from marine grade stainless steel and offering the reliability that is not possible from a submersible LVDT or linear potentiometer, our sensors have served a host of different industries such as wastewater and offshore oil drilling. Another use […]

IncOder CORE is a non-contact, lightweight absolute rotary inductive encoder fully contained in a printed circuit board kit. The ergonomic hollow bore design is suited for integration into rotary actuators. The position sensor utilizes a unique field-proven inductive technique, delivering highly repeatable, […]

Redundant Encoder Options

While most modern rotary encoders rely on non-contact sensing technologies and have high MTBF specifications, in critical applications it is still common to have redundant sensors required. When selecting a solution, a number of different criteria need to be considered and fortunately different solutions exist, making the task less daunting. Redundancy One of the first […]

Chips, Chips & Chips

What semiconductors, snacking and gambling all have in common: Encoders!

There has been a lot of talk lately around the global ‘chip’ shortage. Even social media last month was filled with cartoons of engineers asking Santa for semiconductors for Christmas. Rotary encoders such as the DS-130 by Netzer Precision are an important part of this ‘chip’ production. Accuracies exceeding 0.004 degrees, 21 bit resolution and a 90mm ID ensure that component placement can be done accurately and consistently.

Liquid Level Sensor Interface

The GS liquid level software is an excellent resource for people using sensors to measure fuel, chemicals, or even waste. One of the best features of the Gill Liquid Level Sensors is its compatibility with the GS Level software. The GS Level software makes it easy for the end-user or integrator to change the setting […]
